You have been so eager to write your first essay and even set a schedule just to put your best foot forward on such activity. You have browsed all possible sources you could think of from library to internet-based and even asked around so you could render yourself well-prepared for that essay writing assignment. I know I’m not the only one who experiences this kind of distress in essay writing. So, I’ll be imparting the same information to you. Whenever I type my essay, I always follow all the guidelines that I have learned from school. Of course, everything comes with an exertion of effort. So I studied everything I can about writing an essay and then go all out with the research paper regarding my essay. Now, I know you are curious about writing an essay so here are the basic information and the things you need to know about writing one. What is an Essay? An essay is a brief written material intended to discuss a certain topic usually to prove or disprove a point or convince its reader through series of gathered evidence, facts and statistics from all sorts of viable sources. It is actually still the same. Whichever makes the student better understand the anatomy of an essay then so be it. For me, I would prefer pattern number two but just to make things look simpler and easier to remember, the first one will do the job nicely. The Introduction The introduction is usually a one short paragraph that acts as a welcome statement of which gives the first impression for the whole essay. This is also where the Thesis statement is being placed. The Thesis statement is the main idea and the argument that you are going to discuss about. It is the guide that sets the whole essay into one convincing if not powerful piece of idea. The Body The body of the essay is where every detail from facts to quotations is being effectively used. It usually is a three-part paragraph but it can also be longer depending on the amount of important points you want to tackle through. The body should have one main topic for each paragraph. Doing otherwise will only blur out your point and end up losing your reader’s interest. There are some patterns with constructing the body of the essay. The most typical is by putting the weakest point in the middle between other stronger points. The Conclusion The conclusion is the short summary of your essay. Its main purpose is to give closure to your essay and offer a resolution. It is the final part of your essay so therefore no new information should be introduced. Conclusions should also be memorable in its own form because readers remember well the last idea that they absorb. It is the end part of your essay that will give the reader its satisfaction rating. They either think that you have made a very good argument or you just made something of a story-telling just to say that you made something that resembles to an essay. After writing your essay… When all your data and information are laid out and finally come up to a conclusion with your essay then it is time to proofread. You should always double check your work as you may find some errors or wrong grammars along your sentences.
